David Copperfield

Playhouse Theatre, 104 High Street, Whitstable, Kent (UK)
Fri, 20th April 2012 - Sat, 28th April 2012

A play by Matthew Francis adapted from the novel by Charles Dickens. Charles Dickens’s semi-autobiographical novel is brought vividly to life in this colourful and fast moving adaptation. Full of energy and vitality, the play chronicles young David’s journey from happy infancy through brutality, adversity, friendships won and lost, to mature love and contentment. Of all his novels, Dickens loved this the best and the play reflects that love and provides a memorable theatrical experience. This production will celebrate the bicentenary of Charles Dickens and the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Playhouse theatre. It is also the Lindley Players entry in the Kent Full Length Play Festival. The play is directed by Peter Hunt.
