Southwark Cathedral will be celebrating the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens with a series of events. During the afternoon there will be a special Bells Ring Out, where the Ancient Society College Youths and Southwark Cathedral’s Bellringers are ringing a full peal to commemorate the anniversary. From 2.30pm, a guided walk will take place to explore Dickensian Southwark (for further details: David Payne 020 7367 6734 or david.payne@southwark.anglican.org). Renowned Dickens biographer, Claire Tomalin, will be closing the celebrations with a talk in the evening, followed by a drinks reception.
